Hello February

Can you believe its February? There's a lot going on here at S&S Events, and for our studio mates Arcata Photo Studios. Check out the APS blog for more on what they're up to.

Here in the studio we're getting ready for Arts! Arcata on Friday, February 13th, from 6 to 9 p. We will have food and wine, all while showing off the photography of Dan and Dana Smith. See more info on the S&S/APS Arts! Arcata web page.

McKinleyville Arts night is stacking up to be a great event this month. It will be Friday, February 20th from 6 to 8 pm throughout McKinleville. Check out the McKinleyville Arts Night Web page for more information on all venues and artists, as well as a convenient venue map.

S&S has a full schedule for 2009!

We are in full planning mode for North Coast Open Studios (scheduled for June 6-7 & 13-14). There will be more information available soon for participants and attendees. For now, check out the 2008 North Coast Open Studios website, generously done by the talented David Thewlis of DCTA, Inc.

New for S&S for 2009, the 25th Annual Northcoast Environmental Auction! Scheduled for Saturday, April 11th at the Arcata Community Center, this annual event is the major fundraiser for the NEC each year, and directly benefts all of their great projects. See more about the auction, and the Northcoast Environmental Center at the NEC's website.

Arts! Arcata and Lila Nelson

Friday was a great night. For those of you who didn't make it, Arts! Arcata was, as always, an entertaining night out. In the S&S office, which I share with the fab photographers of Arcata Photo Studio, we had a live performance by Lila Nelson.

She was amazing! The standing room only crowd couldn't get enough. In between sets guests had a chance to visit with Lila, view the current APS photo show and enjoy wine, courtesy of Arcata Photo Studio and S&S Events.

Happy New Year: Big Plans for 2009

Welcome to my new blog. It has been a long time coming, but I am really excited to get started, and have a space to keep everyone up to date on all that is going on with S&S Events.

Just to start, S&S Events is now 10 months old! This last year has been great for our new business. So far, we have done: The First Annual Green Wheels Gala, The Tenth Annual North Coast Open Studio, The 18th Annual Arcata Bay Oyster Festival, The Fourth of July Jubilee on the Plaza, McKinleyville Arts Night, and the McKinleyville Halloween Costume Parade.... just to name a few.














We're looking forward to an even better year for 2009! Check back frequently. I plan on doing monthly updates, maybe more when things are exciting, keeping you up to date on what is going on at S&S Events. I will also add links to some of my favorite people and things.
